Tomato Steak Tartare

A vegetarian twist on steak tartare using tomatoes, served with a fresh egg yolk and toasted bread.

Hoe doe je het

blanch
  1. 01

    Score the skin of 3 large tomatoes and blanch in boiling water for 60 seconds. Remove and peel off the skin.

    Dice the tomatoes, remove the pulp, and place in a sieve. Sprinkle with salt and let drain excess moisture.

  3. 03

    Finely chop anchovies, fresh herbs (rosemary and thyme), chili, capers, small pickles, onion, and green bell pepper.

    In a bowl, combine the drained tomatoes with the chopped ingredients. Add Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, mayonnaise, and a drizzle of olive oil. Mix well.

    Place a ring mold on a plate and fill with the mixture. Press down and remove the mold to shape the tartare.

  6. 06

    Carefully place a fresh egg yolk on top of the tartare. Sprinkle with pepper and serve with toasted bread.

Tomato Steak Tartare

Made in beautiful Mula, this tomato steak tartare is incredibly delicious and 100% vegetarian! 🥗 

How to make it: Blanch 3 large tomatoes (60 seconds in boiling water after scoring the skin) to easily remove the skin. Dice the tomatoes, remove the pulp, and place in a sieve with a sprinkle of salt to drain excess moisture. 

Mix with finely chopped anchovies, fresh herbs (like rosemary and thyme), chili, a spoonful of Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, mayonnaise, capers, small pickles, and a drizzle of olive oil. Shape with a ring mold and top with a fresh egg yolk. Ready to enjoy! 😋
