Edamame-Style Green Peas
Organic green peas cooked in their pods, tossed in a garlic-chili soy butter sauce, and eaten edamame-style by squeezing the peas out with your teeth.



Wat erin gaat
- 1 whole garlic bulb
- 1 fresh red chili
- 500g green peas in pods
- 2 tbsp butter
- 9 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 sugar cube
- 1 lemon (optional, for squeezing)

Boil the whole garlic bulb in water for 8 minutes, then remove and let cool. Finely chop the cooked garlic.

Finely chop the fresh red chili and mix with the chopped garlic.

Cook the green peas in their pods in boiling salted water for exactly 5 minutes, then drain and cool immediately under cold water.

In a pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the garlic-chili mixture and sauté briefly.

Add 9 tablespoons of soy sauce and 1 sugar cube. Let it simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Add the cooked peas to the pan and toss for 2-3 minutes on low heat until well coated.

Serve hot. Eat edamame-style: squeeze the peas out of the pod with your teeth and discard the pod.

Add the peas and toss 2–3 minutes on low heat. Eat them edamame style: squeeze the peas out with your teeth and leave the pod behind.
